Nov. 2016: Montijo/Spain

Hola chicos!

The beginning of the third Erasmus+ – meeting in Montijo / Spain was perfect: After a very warm welcome by the principal of I.E.S. Vegas Bajas, all Erasmus delegations were really surprised by the pupils of a bakery class who offered delicious cakes and specialities of Extremadura to their guests of Poland, Sweden, Germany and Turkey.

In addition, the mayor of Montijo spent some time to show us his appreciation for our project.

The topic of our G5-summit was “Mass tourism“.  With the peers of our partner schools, we discussed the ecological and economic consequences of tourism in our countries.

Our aim of this meeting was to create an “app” showing the cultural and natural richness of Extremadura. Therefore, we were introduced to some rules to take good photos and we discovered the cities Mérida and Caceres, two very famous fascinating Roman towns. A highlight of the whole meeting was the visit of the National Park Montfragüe guided by an expert in bird watching. It was an unique experience because of the wonderful landscape. Another wonderful place was the beautiful reservoir “Alange” where we were happy to do different adventurous activities.Furthermore, we planted trees as a symbol of our European friendship in the school garden of I.E.S. Vegas Bajas and our hosts explained the traditional way of building huts, the “chozos”.

At the end, we were able to create an app showing the places of interest in Montijo and its surrounding for young tourists!

Muchas gracias para une semana fantastica!
